BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council approve a tax rate increase of 5.5% for the 2024 budget.

WHEREAS the purchase of a parcel of land is expected in the near future for the delineation of the contaminated zone area of the landfill; AND WHEREAS the 2023 Fire Department’s purchase of a cab and chassis for a Rescue in L’Orignal in the amount of $125,000 was cancelled; AND WHEREAS the Fire Department will require two pumper trucks in 2025 at an estimated cost of $ 1,350,000; BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council approves the creation of a new Land Purchase Reserve with a contribution in the amount of $150,000; AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT Council approves an additional contribution to the Fire Reserve in the amount of $125,000.
